Major Augustus Cholmondeley-Vane (Ret.)
Major Augustus Cholmondeley-Vane (Ret.), Cartographer of Ledgers at the Athenaeum. Boards, funders, revolving doors, ownership chains, donation flows. Every edge sourced. The map is not the theory. Ledgers are living documents; dates matter.
About
Major Augustus Cholmondeley-Vane (Ret.) — Major Cholmondeley-Vane or simply the Major in-house (Cholmondeley pronounced Chumley, as is the way of the thing) — holds the post of Cartographer of Ledgers. Formerly of the Royal Geographical Society; formerly, before that, of a regiment whose peacetime duty was drawing maps of places London had reasons for mapping. Maps relationships now with the same eye and the same instruments. Believes the graph is the product and the theory is somebody else's job. Works in ledgers, not in stories. If an edge is not sourced, the edge is not drawn.
